Pink Power

Pink doesn't seem to show any sign that it will be going out of style for engagements and  weddings , in fact ,since pink has dominated  the colour theme requested , I  have to always make sure I have the colour in stock .Maybe its that gentle persona pink has that defines  romance , calmness and most of all sweeteness.....

A perfect gift of love, these were orders from Datin Jai ...(Urgg..I'm in love with her Orange Porsche Cayenne)....lucky cupcakes ...dapat naik Porsche...hehe..

Pearls & silver balls to enhance the cake...I love using swiss meringue buttercream as it is less sweet and taste like ice cream .SCS Butter was on  sale Ramadhan I can't help but borong my favourite butter....
She also ordered these as a gift for a client...

All time favourite - Oreo Cupcakes

My kids  always had a thing for Oreos and that's the only flavour they never say no to. Usually, I bake a basic vanilla cupcake with the addition of crushed Oreos in the batter. The recipe I use has milk in it -recipe here Vanilla Oreo Cupcake

This time after googling for other recipes on oreo cupcake , I tried to be a little different and used an Oreo as the base of the cupcake with some of  the oreo frosting too. The whole Oreo surprise at the end of the cupcake was a real delight! I made 2 batches, one Vanilla and the other chocolate using butermilk -recipe here  Chocolate Oreo cupcake  . 

The moist so yummy...with bits of oreo cookies  nested  inside and beneath the cake ....try it...

Cake by colour theme

This year around , for  Ed Fitri our baju raya was in the shade of fuscia , purple & turquoise. It was kind of classy having all these 3 colours marry between us 6 siblings. 

Since ombre moist buttercake was the in thing now  , I decided to bake our raya cake  using the same colour scheme as our baju raya....

We had this after lemang & rendang daging....

Moist butter cake layered with hazelnut & chocolate butter cream ....eaten out of  the fridge makes  it taste  better than ice cream...

Selamat Hari Raya - Crispy Peanut Butter cookie

Biskut is benda wajib for Hari Raya. Awal Ramadhan I have made a pledge that I tak nak buat commercial baking and only commit to those orders which I have agreed to take much earlier. 

However atas dasar persahabatan I had to bake , ada kawan yang cakap suaminya suruh dia minta resepi my cookies yg I made for their open house a few weeks before and make them for Raya but she too malas nak buat beli lagi senang , another said her daughter wants only home made cookies tak nak cookies orang jual kat kedai ( yg jual kat kedai tu pun banyak homemade juga tau)...and macam2 lagilah kena bakinglah juga...yesterday morning ( 3 hari  nak raya ni)  another friend call cakap 2kg balang yang order hari tu dah habis ...tak sempat buat untuk raya nak order 4 balang lagi nak bawak balik kampung ...boleh???...bayar lebih pun tak apa ....Ahak....oh tidakkk ...tak boleh sayang...saya nak raya juga....I kasi resepi je boleh?!! ..I personally am in love with her  SMEG to have list soon...hehe ( had the opportunity of teaching her  how to make macarons  both French & Italian method  in the warmth of her stylish modern kitchen)...

Anyway  in respond to the request ..I am sharing the recipe I used for my peanut butter jelly cookies yang menjadi kesukaan ni . Adapted from buku -Cookie Heaven by Deborah Gray .

80gm peanut ( I change to almond nib ...lagi sedap )
115gm butter 
150gm brown sugar
1 tbsp jam ( any flavour you like ...I like rasberry )
115g peanut butter
1tsp vanilla
1 egg beaten
170 plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicabonate soda ( mix in 1tsp hot water ) - for a light and chrispy cookie...

Buat senang sangat... beat all the bahan basah ( telur, butter , peanut butter , vanilla ) - masukkan bahan kering ...gaul and bentukkan...tak ada mixer pun tak apa ....nak sebati jer...mesti jadi punyalah....kalau tak jadi...then forget about baking anything benda paling senang nak buat ,my 7 year dter  baked them herself for her teachers...So happy baking and Selamat Menyambut Syawal...semoga dipanjangkan umur untuk bertemu Ramadhan seterusnya....sob sob...

Pretty packs - A gesture of thanks

It was an honor for me to be given the opportunity  to prepare Ed Fitri giveaway by one of my favourite cosmetic company - Shiseido Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The tin box was filled with 5 pcs of of premium grade mariami dates stuffed with roasted almond and later dipped into bittersweet chocolate .The colours and theme  remind me of Marrakesh

Chocolate with Macadamia nut brownies

Don't tell me you don't want a bite of this sinfully delicious brownies....macadamia nuts made it even more irresistible , it is my favourite nut (yikes!! macadamia nut is RM80 per kg ) . 

My orders are  usually  plain chocolate brownies, or if nuts are included, they will be almond nibs or slice, never before macadamia...these however taste heavenly, I used Hershey cocoa powder for personal indulgence...hehe...

Compared to paper boxes , bags and glass jars, favours in tins are even classier .Even when they are a little bit pricier compared to the other 2 environment friendly materials, they are indeed for keeps .
