Agar agar kering

I am not sure why but there has been an  increase in the demand for agar2 kering....Yup these cute little  sun dried sugar jelly may look simple but God knows I am at his mercy...they are not so simple as simple can be...You depend on the sun to make them dry to crisp...mana boleh masuk oven kalau tak cukup kering...kena doa for Mr Sunshine to smile at me...This being the case...those yang nak order kena booking awal...at least 2 minggu... for bigger order like 500 a 1000 jar/pax ... 2 months...  
 
With so many packaging option now... you can definitely make agar agar kering look presentable ...boleh ikut warna tema...deco2 the tag with ribbons and many more...

Always crazy about choc chip cookies


Oh how I remembered those days when I use to spend a fortune on Famous Amos cookies each time pegi Mall...with 4 kids bukan boleh beli 100gm jer that cost RM9.90...at least 300gm baru tak berebut...koyak poket beli biskut jer yang tak sampai 40 ketul..( yup I counted)

Those days however are long gone since I am able to produce cookies as good (  masuk bakul angkat sediri hehe ) and most importantly less sweet -frankly..I find Amos to be too sweet for my liking but my kids love it and I suppose a lot of people do too which makes Amos a billionair ..

Knowing how my family enjoys choc chip cookies I was determine to experiment with various recipes from Guru GOOGLE..huhu...had a few flops but after countless trial and  improvise  sana sini , I have finally settle with something I can call my own that satisfied me...those bakes that made my kitchen smell like a heaven bakery...some said I must go commercial and sell in stores...huhu...I guess for now I am just happy operating from home with made to order...perhaphs in future my kids will be able to do better..

With cookies , its about ingredients, the kind of chocolate you use, the proportion of butter ,sugar and flour, the nuts and yes the quality of vanilla and coffee oil...( Yup coffee oil & cinnamon makes the difference in aroma)...these ingredients all comes with a price...so kalau minta cookies yang murah2..I will have to use lower grade ingredients...some don't mind paying for better quality ingredients.... and.... yes....they always come back for more...

Cupcake - Keeping it simple

People do ask me why don't I make cupcakes with fondant or sugarpaste/gumpaste as they are all so pretty  .
 
Well... I cannot agree more how pretty those cakes are and how amazingly  creative those sugar craft bakers can be ...sugarpaste flowers look so real ..... full bloom ...so are the cute figurines....you name it...they'll make it ....from cars, to cameras  to even your favourite designer handbag and make up on top of a cupcake ....its both gifted creativity and acquired  skill.... Perhaps my daughters  have this in them ...berseni dan sabar - Ummi tak ada kesabaran tu...nak buat yang cepat dan sedap jer...huhu 
 
When I decided to make cupcakes to sell ....I made up my mind that mine will be  kept simple yet ... delish...continuously  experimenting with texture and flavour....very much inspired by cafĂ© cakes from Australian Magazines...my recent trip to Europe cafes was inspirational
 
This morning I decided to bake for my neighbours... instead of using butter...I decided to use oil and buttermilk with a twist of lemon...later top the cake with buttercream and Hawaiian cocounut....Oh it was so sedap....I had to stop my kids from going for seconds....nanti tak cukup nak kasi jiran...( Oh yes...I can imagine how good they would be in jars too....makan sejuk...yummm)
 
 
 
 
Fluffy Lemon cake
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp fresh lemon zest
 
Method
1.Preheat oven at 160C.
2.Prepare the dry ingredients. Sift cake flour, cocoa , salt and bicarbonate soda, set aside.
3.Prepare the wet ingredients, oil, buttermilk, vinegar and food colouring. Mix the oil and buttermilk and eggs until incorporated.
4.Mix dry ingredients with sugar, whisk well. Then, add in the wet ingredient and mix well.
5.Add lemon zest  well incorporated.
6.Bake for about 15 minutes.( I like using bottom heat only so that the cupcake does not crack on top)
7.When cool,  decorate with your fav buttercream recipe and sprinkle  with  Hawaiian coconut ( I beli kat Bake with Yen @ RM10 for 1 kg.... )

Cookies - What you fav

My bakes are not limited to Choc Chip cookies ( walau inilah yang paling sedap ..ala2 Amos cuma tak semanis Amos since I kurangkan sugar)
 
So like any other bakes , cookies can be made in many ways according to what your taste bud desires..you can be creative with nuts , dried fruits and the kind of chocolate used ...I personally suka Butterscotch by Hershey ( haha suka curah banyak banyak )  with macadamia  and my husband likes BitterSweet chocolate with almond nibs ,the kids however eats everything I bake....
 
So if you have any personal favourite, do let me know and yes ......I do give free samples for big orders ( above 200 pax)
 
 
Cookie dough Corn Flakes , raisins ,almond nib ,bitter sweet chocolate chip with a pinch of cinnamon powder...the outcome....heavenly ......( Tips : I mix the eggs with vanilla and keep them in the fridge over night )......

Acar - Dare to be different

Oh yes...Acar  buah..gabungan tumisan  lazat dengan buah buahan yang di dikeringan juga di jeruk..one of my favourite  traditional pickled relish. Memasak acar ni makan masa berjam jam untuk membuatkan ia lebih sedap dan tahan lama, ramai kata acar ni lagi lama lebih sedap .
 
It is very seldom that we find acar being packed in such a way that it can be a gift. Being something that ramai orang suka makan ,I ima gine that it can also be a gift that your guest will really appreciate. Tak perlu follow the norm,dare to be different ,kalau benda sedap people are sure to like it..I know I would be very happy to get "berkat"acar from kenduri.....
 
 Sangat sesuai sebagai buah tangan untuk majlis Aqiqah , bertunang and even weddings...
 
Tradition can hardly go wrong and tekak orang melayu memang suka rasa pedas, manis, masin masam yang bergabung macam acar .
 
 So if you are still looking for a difference in your gift to your guest...try acar buah...you will be so glad you did....

Taking A Break- Istanbul ....Aku datang!!!

Masa kerja dengan company, good performace akan dibayar bonus , ada kenaikan pangkat , naik gaji dan macam macam lagi as an acknowledgement that I am being appreciated..hmm...Hakikat sebenarnya.....more responsibility..less time for family dan diri sendiri....huhu..
 
Anyway, bila kerja sendiri .....mesti lebih hargai and reward diri....kerja kat rumah ni berkali2 ganda lebih mencabar tau... multi tasking...its hard work dan  mana nak ada tidur waktu siang  like most people would imagine.
 
So annually now , I will have a target untuk achieve something and later ada reason to reward myself ...and how do I reward myself?.....Pack my bags, jump on a plane and holiday...yippieee...
 
I have travelled the globe since umur 3 tahun when my parents studied in the states so I guess ..travelling has always been in me  and will continue to do so selagi ada rezeki ...
 
This time it is-Istanbul....Yup Istanbul Aku datang..( nak tengok khazanah Islam di Blue mosque)....followed by the real reason for my journey....Umrah.....It has been 3 years since my  Hajj in 2010 ...So here I am packing my bags again with dear hubby, 16th year old son and beloved daddy for this spiritual journey....
  
 
 


CST delivered a total of 4270 cake in jar for the past 12 months ..Fuhh..penat but enjoyed every bake........so who says duduk rumah  tak boleh  buat duit.?!!...haa tu tak masuk cookies in jar lagi...which is more than 5000 jars...other bakes??!..hehe ( Be remided of the hardwork ya dan karenah worker yang pelbagai)....but well it paid off....tak yah masuk MLM pun nak buat duit ....baking ni sah sah rezeki masuk bersih tak ada syubahah.....wajib pastikan penyediaan makanan mengikut piawaian Halal Taiyibbah...buat kerana Allah...tak boleh compromise bahan..

New Addition - Sweet Hamper

 
The idea of doing hampers actually came up following my own frustration on the quality of contents dalam hamper yang dibeli di supermarket. A lot of things that they put in there are stuff that we hardly heard of not to mention some of them we don't actually favour...and isn't that a waste.
 
The basket of goodies is suppose to make one smile with joy not wonder...apa benda ni?..sedap ke?..product negara mana ni?...
 
Now..imagine bringing a gift as charming as this one here  for a newly wed , a beloved friend, a client , a couple with a new born baby...and the list goes on...How would you feel receiving one yourself?..suka kan?!!


Something like this ranges between RM100- RM150 with all goodies yang berjenama dan  berkualiti..However I can adjust the box /basket according to your budget from RM60.00 onwards....
